The Road to Indianapolis … and Victory!

Dear Emory Community,
What a thrilling time for Emory Eagles fans! Our student-athletes continue to Fly Higher and impress in competition and beyond.
As you likely have already heard, the men’s basketball team is headed to the NCAA Division III National Championship for the first time ever. They are traveling to Indianapolis to face the University of Mary Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, in Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the NBA’s Indiana Pacers and WNBA’s Indiana Fever.
Those on or near campus won’t be left out of the March Madness—we will host a community-wide watch party during game time at Harland Cinema in the Alumni Memorial University Center (AMUC). Bring your friends and come in your Eagles apparel and ready to cheer! If you’re planning to attend the finals in person, you can purchase tickets here. The game will also be streaming on ESPN+ and via radio broadcast.
The men’s basketball run continues a remarkable 2025–26 season for Emory athletes, including stellar performances in their NCAA post-season competitions by the women’s and men’s swimming and diving, soccer, and cross country teams and women’s volleyball team—and the season is not over yet. Just last week our women’s golf team was recognized on the floor of the Georgia House of Representatives for their national championship title.
Thank you to the coaches and staff in all our varsity sports programs who tirelessly support our students’ collective success—including making Emory history. Wherever you are this weekend, I urge you to come out or tune in and cheer Emory men’s basketball on to victory. Good luck to the team for every success as you chase the national title.
Go Eagles!
Sincerely,
Justice Leah Ward Sears 80L
President (Interim), Emory University
